How we rank

CarryMatey exists to help you buy the right product, not the most heavily advertised one. Here is exactly how our rankings work.

1. We collect facts, then write our own analysis

Specifications and model details come from manufacturers’ official product pages. Prices, availability and buy links come from retailers’ official affiliate APIs. We never copy another site’s reviews, ratings text or prose — every verdict, pro and con on this site is written by us from the underlying facts.

2. The ranking formula

Each product gets a computed value score — its buyer rating (or a neutral baseline until it has enough reviews) multiplied by how complete its key specs are and by how its price compares to the median price in its category. In short: more rating and more specs for less money scores higher. It's recomputed from the data every time prices refresh, so it's never hand-set. We then order products by:

1. Buyer rating (only counted once a product has at least 3 reviews, so a single 5-star review can’t leapfrog a proven product);
2. Value score (specs and features per rupee);
3. Number of reviews (a tie-breaker favouring proven demand);
4. Price (lower wins, all else equal).

The same rating threshold is used for both ranking and the star display, so what you see always matches how we ranked it.

3. Badges

Editor’s Choice marks the top overall pick in a category. Best Value marks the highest value score. Price Drop appears when the current price is meaningfully below its usual selling price.

4. Prices & freshness

Prices are refreshed regularly and shown with a “price as of” date. Prices and stock change constantly, so always confirm on the retailer’s page before buying.
